I am a Christian and a biker so I thought I should check this book out. It was very interesting to see the correlations of the Christian journey and the biker journey. Because of some of my own cross country rides, I was truly able to relate to many of the tales told. I am a loner and haven't really meshed into riding with others. I do love the biker wave though. Recently, I took my first long, cross country ride covering 4 states (alone as usual). Within the first 60 miles, the brand new, bought for the trip, helmet visor flew off. At about 100 miles out I had to stop to adjust the extra backpack I had bungee strapped over one of the saddlebags. The remainder of the ride was good- all 1000 miles of it. After thoroughly enjoyed my time with family, I began the journey home. Shortly after hitting the interstate, I slid my foot back to the passenger peg on the right side. whoa-- away it flew. BTW, I ride a Harley Heritage Classic. With some fear of continuing to ride with the saddlebag loose (since the foot peg was no longer holding it in place), I spotted a Honda bike repair shop adjacent to the interstate. Grateful God provided and happy to know a biker is a biker and a part of the biker family regardless of bike make, I stopped and they kindly rendered my ride safe for the road. About 8 hours later, I hit torrential down pours that I ride through for 2 solid hours. I was very happy to make it home safely. You can't face these trials and fears without the solid foundation of God's provision. Finally, let me mention an important fact of my journey-- I am a female rider!!! May God bless all riders and open our eyes to His Amazing Grace.
