I have a thing for labelers. We have a Dymo electronic one - so useful - but I wanted one that had a more vintage look to it and ordered a Dymo S0717930 Omega Home Embossing Label Maker last fall along with some off-brand cartridges. It only took two tape cartridges for the Dymo to be completely worthless (and yes I tried realigning the wheel, that wasn't it, the little trigger thing was worn out). It broke because I was a bit too enthusiastic in clicking it and also because it was a cheap piece of tat.After doing a bit more research, I decided to try the Artemio version. It has a fundamentally different mechanical design and way of spinning the letter wheel. It works much better and seems less prone to so quickly wearing out. It gets fewer little plastic cut bits stuck in the blade, and the one time it did happen, it was much easier to clean it out. It's also easy to switch the letter plates out though I haven't really used that feature. This label maker gives an 80's vintage touch to homemade baked goods and jars of stuff that we're sharing and even though it's definitely more time consuming to use than the electronic version, it's my favorite!!!
