My Samsung French door refrigerator was experiencing the same problem thousands of other owners have experienced . . . constant freezing up and clogging of my door icemaker. There was a class action lawsuit against Samsung for this problem where apparently they'll replace the icemaker for free. However when I called customer service they said it didn't apply to my refrigerator (it was too new). How convenient!I found a great video on YouTube (there are several) which was a step-by-step tutorial on how to replace theses icemakers. In addition to replacing the icemaker with this Amazon unit, I neatly lined the interior of the icemaker housing with HVAC foil tape (when all the components were removed). Apparently warmer air from the refrigerator compartment is getting into the icemaker causing a freeze-thaw scenario and subsequent ice build-up. My repair did the trick!!! It's been 1.5 months since and so far I have ZERO ice build-up in the interior and the tray pulls out freely.I can't say if replacing the icemaker alone would have done the trick (without doing the foil), but I only wanted to do this job once so I did everything mentioned in the YouTube video. Good luck!
