Used for crafts…very easy to useI didn’t like having to buy 2 when I only needed one.I wanted a larger Pom Pom for my crocheted hats. Do you ever notice how disproportionate the smaller ones look? All I can say is that It’s perfect!!!! Easy to use and it made huge Pom Poms!!!! Great quality so Get it!! Now the Pom Pom’s do not look like dots on the hats. This pompom maker makes a perfect pom. I was very nervous to cut the yarn before tying it, but it turned out great! It is quite large, about 4 1/2 to 5 inches.I love it and the size. I just didn't like where I had to but 2 too get 1.Clover makes the most awesome pom pom makers. They are easy to use and help you to make consistent sizes if you are in need of multiples for a project. I used these to make garlands and wreaths. If you are looking for visual directions on how to use the pom pom makers, check out YouTube as there are many helpful tutorials. It's not hard to make a pom pom, but it is a little difficult snipping it off of the device and you'd better have very sharp pointy scissors. You also need to pull a trash can over and snip around to even it out a bit after you remove it from the device. They're very good looking pom poms when finished.I already had these, but after searching the house, I gave up and ordered more. I then found them one day before these arrived, but now I can “play” with a friend. Pom poms are all grown up now, and very artsy! You can make them into animals, flowers, cupcakes….the sky is the limit. There are great books available with patterns, and YouTube can help you make a masterpiece. I’ve bought a number of different makers over the years, but the Clover leads the pack.Bought the 4 smaller ones in a set by Clover. Then spotted this extra large one. This brand is exceptionally sturdy and are in fact easy to use. So much easier than my homemade cardboard template! Agree with others regarding lack of instructions but a quick search online, there are plenty of clips. Really pleased with Clover products. Also well packaged and arrived on time so thank you seller. Highly recommend.Brilliant pom pom maker. At first I thought it looked complicated but after watching videos about a dozen times! ( it takes me a while to catch on) I cracked it. Lovely, big, fluffy pom poms and dead easy to do. Love it.So easy to use and makes the perfect round pom pom. I got this to make pom pom tree decorations at Christmas and so far, it's not let me down once. All the pom poms I've made with it have come out perfectly, requiring little to no trimming. And unlike the old fashioned way I used to use (two circles of cardboard with hole in the middle to thread the yarn through) the pom poms I've made with this don't fall apart once I've tied the yarn round the middle. If you're looking for a quick and easy way to make pom poms, I would highly recommend giving this a go.I love these pom pom makers, they are so much faster and easier to use than the old way of making pom poms using 2 circles of card. The reason I've only given 4 stars is because the small set makes pom poms of 35 and 45mm, and the large set makes pom poms of 65 and 85mm, so if you need to make pom poms in several sizes there is a very obvious jump from 45mm to 65mm. I made a pom pom wreath and ended up making 65mm pom poms then trimming them down to 55mm to fill in what looked like a big gap between sizes. The trimming was more time consuming than making the pom poms. I also think 55mm would be the best size for bobble hats - the 45mm seems too small and the 65mm too big. So I think that either the small or the large set should have a 55mm pom pom maker.Great pom pom makers! These sturdy devices are easy to use, and produce a really good result. They work in 2 semi-circular halves, to wind the wool on, which is easy & quick. You then fold the parts in to make a circle, and then use embroidery scissors to cut round the ‘equator’ (as you would with the cardboard method) before securing with yarn around the ‘equator’. The pom pom maker can then be pulled apart, like 2 halves of a bagel, to release the pom pom! These smaller pom pom makers can be fiddly, and require a reasonable amount of hand strength & dexterity, (to hold the layers together when cutting the yarn).
