Works very well! There's a learning curve that we haven't achieved but we loved it for our party. It's hard to clean, do immediately after before candy turns to stone. Use a dishcloth soaked in very hot(boiling) water to remove hard candy in the reservoir. I can't imagine not having the cover also, it would've been everywhere.
