After yet another Keurig demise (of a still new machine), I decided to look elsewhere. As I've been satisfied with the Amazon Basics brand, so I pulled the trigger on the Standard version of the AB dual brew. For me, the Dual function is huge, and I may be using this coffee maker more and more with good quality ground coffee vs K-CUP$. Keurig offers a ground coffee filter, but it's very hard to use. The AB ground coffee filter is a snap to use.Other reviews mentioned a funky taste at first, and the maker did have a weird plasticy smell, so I ran an ounce of vinegar and a couple of tanks of water right out of the box. By the time I made my first cup, it was excellent.Two drawbacks to this brewer are the smallish water tank and the lack of a "strong brew" button, which slows down the hot water flow to get more ounces of strong coffee from the pods, but I could live with both issues.A great plus is this maker accepts my Yeti travel mug, and I can set the brewer to make a full 14 ounces to fill it up.This is a great coffee maker. My Keurig died and I did not want to spend another hundred bucks just to make coffee. I’ve only used k cups and they work great and taste just the same as they always have. This machine to me personally actually looks nicer then my old Keurig. The only negative I have is the stream of coffee that comes out is not consistent. This inconsistency results in more splatter as you can see in the picture. Not the end of the world but if you are clean freak like me just beware. I started just holding my mug right under above instead of leaving it so this does not happen. There’s no problems with splatter if I use my 20oz travel cup. Overall I’d recommend it just make sure you hold your cup while it brews if you wanna avoid splashing.I love it! I bought 16 oz. cups to go with, but 14 oz water almost fills it to the rim so you might want to purchase 20 oz cups or just use the 12 oz setting. But it's great little pot. I'm very pleased! ?The water tank is bigger than what I had but I'd love one 3 times larger so I only need to refill it once a week. We are morning coffee drinkers so we use it daily. At 1st the coffee was weak but by the 3rd cup it was good.Was looking for a replacement. Tried a few. Wanted the water tank removable not inset to the machine and therefore hard to clean. This one is perfect.Easy to clean the brewing components, you have to take the unit to the sink to clean the water reservoir. (Not uncommon). Brews a good cup and is extremely easy to use. The only downside I’ve seen is that a little coffee remains in the k-cup holder, so it needs to rinsed out after use.We needed a new coffee maker, but needed one with a decent reservoir and did not take up a lot of space. It is great for pods, easy to clean, easy to run. It is a really good deal for the money too.Very simple to use and faster than the keurig that I had.
