I had high hopes for this book, preordering it weeks before release. I'm a 4th year associate at an AmLaw 100 law firm who has read a few of the best business development for lawyers books on the market. As someone who is constantly looking for ways to bring in more clients and develop my practice, I gobble this stuff up. Compared to others I have read, this book was rudimentary and overly geared toward law students. Yes, law students need to learn to network - I know I did - and some of the techniques in this book will help them do so, but as for genuine business development strategies for practicing lawyers, especially those climbing the ranks in the country's best law firms, this book was a total miss for me. As an alternative, I highly recommend The Reluctant Rainmaker by Julie A. Fleming.
