All Pepe tools are well worth the price!I've been waiting years for a tool that makes jump rings, and now I've got it!!Exactly as advertised except, the black base is plastic, not aluminum. Every other review has mentioned this so they really need to change the ad. It functions perfectly.The Pepe tool has been great for making my own jump rings in any size I need for the project.Got it fast and feels sturdyPerfect for making jump rings but that base is not made of aluminum it's made of plasticWhat's to like: Almost everything.- Clean, even cuts assure uniform rings. There might be a slight bur at the cut, but that hasn't bothered me- The cutting guide is way easier to use than using a hand saw to cut the rings off a dowel.- Great range of mandrel diameters. And, if you need something between the 0.5mm diameter steps, you can use your own rod stock as mandrel.What's not:- It comes with an Allen wrench for tightening the #30 handpiece into the saw mount, but nowhere in the base to hold the Allen wrench. I drilled a hole in the base for it, but a magnet might work better.- The uncut coil is a bit short - about 10 or 12 cm. A longer coil would have less unusable material at each end, and would mean less fussing around to set up and clean up working with each coil. This should matter only when you need a LOT of jump rings, but then you might buy in bulk anyway.- The #30 handpiece. Either you spend a lot of time realigning it each time you make jump rings, or you dump the money for a dedicated handpiece. I could afford the latter, but it's not a solution for everyone.- You might not get the last few rings from each coil. I've had that last end of the coil fall over within the cutting guide.Every arrangement has some disadvantages, this being no exception. Even so, this tool's advantages made it an instant favorite.-- wiredweird
