Makes great coffee. Front panel is very easy to use. Clock is easy to see however the light is like a bright nightlight. The bright light doesn't bother me but it might bother some people.I would have given this coffeemaker 5 stars except for the design of the water reservoir and lid. Area to add water is very small and lid doesn't open all the way. I'm left-handed but have to add water right-handed to a small area. I had read other reviews before purchasing where people had the spring on the lid break within 3-6 months. It is impossible not to press against the lid when adding water but I try not to put too much pressure on the lid. This means I can't completely empty carafe. As the water gets down to a certain point you are putting more pressure on the lid. That makes using measurements on carafe impossible but fortunately there is a water level indicator on the side of the coffeemaker. Again though this indicator is a poor design as it is way in the back and only measures even numbers. Odd number of cups is guesswork. I have to pull the coffeemaker out further on the counter and turn sideways so I can see the water level. My last coffeemaker (different brand) had the water level in the front and the water reservoir was the whole width of the back of coffeemaker. This was a more convenient design. When I ordered the coffeemaker, I didn't see anything about not using it under cupboards. My kitchen has cupboards above every counter area so I had no choice but to put it under a cupboard.My previous brand didn't get the good reviews from Consumer Reports that it used to get. Cuisinart did get good reviews. I also knew people with a 14-cup Cuisinart and they love it. The good coffee and front panel design make this worth purchasing. I have had this coffeemaker for 1-1/2 weeks. Time will tell if pressing on the lid when filling the reservoir with cause the lid spring to break. If it breaks you won't be able to open the lid.
