We have trouble with shirts on our 2 year old as his head is pretty large and has trouble fitting though some collars. This shirt with the buttons on the front worked really well for our situation. The fabric is a very nice weight and feels very well made. I like the waffle fabric. It is comfortable and has a nice stretchiness to it. We washed it in cold in our machine. The instructions seem to say not to tumble dry but we did and it survived with no problems. A very nice product for year round wear.
