We drink a lot of different types of coffee at our house - cold brew, regular brewed, pour overs, speciality drinks and espresso. I like to mix it up. We only drink decaf coffee and I like to stick with water processed, only.I have had a Bialetti Express Moka Pot for many years and over those years I have maybe made three successful pots of espresso. I have never really liked the Moka Pot even though I have been told by lots of people to keep trying and it is really worth it. The Moka Pot and I just never saw eye to eye.I decided to try KUYOMENS Stovetop Espresso Maker because I wanted something to compare the original Moka Pot to. I needed to know.I have now made four pots of espresso in the KUYOMENS Stovetop Espresso Maker and I really like it. It is easy and quick. For some reason I could never get the Original Moka Pot to brew, but the KUYOMENS Stovetop Espresso Maker brews easily.Fill the bottom with water to the valve, fill with coffee, assemble and put on the stove. Easy.The whole thing feels solid even after sitting on a hot burner. It brews a pot quickly and it is strong and rich. I usually take half the pot and add water and cream for my husband and the other half and add cream for myself.Since almost everything is made by machine, it is easy to forget the taste of old style espresso. This gives you a lot more control over the strength of your espresso, or latte, etc. and the little bit of extra time is well worth it. I have tried pretty much every espresso machine made, from the home consumer models, to the professional models in restaurants. This is a simple and quick way to make it exactly how you want it, and you can actually make a decent enough amount to serve your whole dinner table. Worth it just to see what you can make, the tried and true way, on a stovetop.This is great for espresso. The pot feels super sturdy and has some heft to it. The handle and thumb opener are both made of a durable plastic material. It includes a removable perforated metal filter which works well and saves the hassle of purchasing replacement filters. We have a ceramic stove top and it works beautifully on it.Apparently it is only the safety valve (that is, an individual component part) that is made in Italy, as the item itself and the box have no country of origin noted on them. In my previous experience, all imports from Italy are clearly marked and engraved with pride. I shopped perhaps too quickly, without a close reading of the listing, and was looking for an actual made-in-Italy stainless product for this one. It does work correctly on the stovetop. The overall design works, though some of the metal areas seem a bit thinner in places than I expected. Because of all that, a good average rating.
